Shirly died suddenly on 25 November 2007. After many battles with poor health which she won, her heart failed following a relatively minor operation. You can read an obituary for her on the Guardian newspaper HERE

Shirly's family and friends will be holding an invitation only celebration
for her life and achievements on 12 April in Whitstable. The family hope to have her latest book ' Finding and Cooking Omega 3 ' ready for publication by this date.

Shirly was a woman with many talents and a passion for life. She was warm and colourful and generous to a fault with her love and her time. Her family, many friends and the sea food industry will miss her but we have great memories and her books to keep us going!
