In 1993, Lord John Butterfield, a distinguished diabetic specialist and oyster lover, proclaimed that a chemical used in his trials for impotency occur quite naturally in the Native (ostrea edulis) oyster. This chemical helped to relieve the congestion of the blood vessels leading to the male sex organ and many of the male patients confirmed thet their potency had been restored.
